Sandy hits Manhattan: Yesterday it was Vito Genovese. Today it's his protégé, Vincent Gigante. They were the Genovese Family version of Dellacroce/Gotti. People say Gotti was "the last don" but I would have to say Gigante is the last of the old school guys. Maybe put Joey the Clown in there too for the Chicago Outfit. On this post I am interested in opinions as to why Gigante wasn't killed by Genovese for botching the Costello hit. It is known Vito Genovese would kill for nothing, why did he give Chin a pass? He didn't even get a demotion.
