The shelter thinks I am about 4 YEARS old. 62lbs. 4 year old Hazel's owner moved and moved Hazel into the shelter. Now the shelter is moving her out through the killing room. Please help get Hazel adopted before noon tomorrow when it will be to late.... A volunteer writes: Surrendered to our care as her person is moving, Hazel comes with glowing recommendations, and after spending time with her I can see why. We're told: her best friend was a Yorkie, she doesn't like cats (she was scratched by one when she was younger), in general she does better with small dogs, told she's housebroken (confirmed by me), knows 'sit', 'give paw', and 'come', loves baths, only pulls on the leash when she sees a cat, and has been with a 14 year old autistic child and a 6 year old with Aspergers and is gentle with them. I loved the time I spent with Hazel - she's loving, beautiful, smart, fun, great on the leash, showed off her housetraining and 'sit' skills, and gives wonderful stand up hugs and kisses. Demonstrating a quiet energy she loved playing with a ball in the backyard, her tail in constant wag mode. In group play she did well with dogs her own size or smaller, confirming the information her former owner left with us. She's lanky and elegant, beautifully groomed and has a quiet feminine grace with the hint of a tomboy.
