A volunteer writes: Me and Mr Jones, we got a thing goin' on...and that thing is the instant but heartfelt friendship only a dog as amazing as MJ can inspire. Gentle, amiable and incredibly beautiful (check out those piercing eyes!), MJ is so easy to handle both on leash and off that it's clear he once knew what it meant to be a loyal and dutiful pet, perhaps even what it meant to be loved. Yet somehow he was cast adrift, just another 'stray' on the mean streets of the city looking for a little comfort and a soft place to lay his head. He's grateful simply spending time with his new Care Center friends and seems to like other dogs very much, greeting them with perfect manners in passing or through the fence. While he's not a super snuggler, my petting and caresses are clearly appreciated and MJ comes when called to briefly enjoy them before getting back to his main task of exploring the yard. He'll sit on command to graciously take treats from my hand or wait for a throw of the ball and his skills as an athlete are nothing short of impressive! MJ runs, he leaps, he always keeps his eye on the prize and never misses a catch yet still allows me to take the ball from him with no guarding whatsoever. Energetic but never hyper, friendly to all, a nice walker and seemingly very house trained, I can't think of a good reason NOT to welcome this charming boy into your life!
